As a Seafair Sanctioned Event, the following rules and regulations are provided for the guidance and compliance of all parade participants, ensuring a safe and enjoyable family parade experience.

PROOF OF INSURANCE: All motorized vehicles and floats must present proof of insurance with their application. This requires submitting a photocopy of your policy page or a certificate of insurance.

ENTRIES BY APPLICATION OR INVITATION ONLY: Participation is subject to approval by the parade committee. Approved entries will be notified. Entries may showcase a variety of designs as long as they are FAMILY ORIENTED and meet the standards established by parade officials.

SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT: Participants must refrain from engaging in any activity deemed unsafe by parade officials. Failure to address infractions promptly will result in removal from the parade by officials.

NO ALCOHOL AND ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES: The consumption or presence of alcoholic beverages and illegal substances is strictly prohibited in conjunction with the Waterland Parade. This prohibition applies to all aspects of the parade, from staging to dispersal.

NO MATERIALS MAY BE THROWN: Participants are prohibited from throwing any materials, including candy, from vehicles or along the parade route. This policy aims to prevent children from venturing into the path of vehicles. However, candy and other items may be distributed safely from curbside.

FLOAT REQUIREMENTS: Floats must carry a regulation fire extinguisher. Smoking is prohibited on, in, or near the floats at any time.

POLITICAL CANDIDATES: Political signs, banners, materials, and candidate campaigning are not permitted in the parade or on the parade route. This rule also applies to elected officials.

Participants who disregard these rules or parade officials' instructions may jeopardize participation in the Waterland Parade. The Parade Chairman has the final decision.
